Zakłady Chemiczne "Złotniki" S.A. is located on the site of the former Goldschmieden chemical factory, built between 1860 and 1870 by the German chemist Henri Bergius, creator of the original alumina production method. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, for the first time in the world, aluminium was extracted from alumina from the Goldschmieden factory in Neuhausen, Switzerland.
The core of the company's offer
After World War 2, the nationalised company became part of Wrocławskie Zakłady Przemysłu Nieorganicznego (WZPN) [Wrocław Inorganic Industry Plant]. At the end of the 1940s, the production of aluminium sulphate was launched, which until 1 May 2004 constituted the core of the company's offer.
Scope of production
In the post-war period, the factory produced, inter alia, various grades of aluminium sulphate, aluminium-ammonium and aluminium-potassium alum, borocalcite, Dofiltr mass, nickel sulphate, magnesium sulphate, magnesium nitrate, calcium nitrate, multi-component fertiliser solutions, sodium aluminate, aluminium polychlorides, mixed aluminium-iron coagulants.
Development of the company
The separation of an independent enterprise called Zakłady Chemiczne "Złotniki" from the structure of the WZPN on 1 January 1991, followed by the establishment of a "limited liability company" and the leasing of State Treasury assets as of 1 June 1995, was crucial for the acceleration of the company's development. This enabled, inter alia, a radical change in the production technology of aluminium sulphate, the launch of the production of new products, the modernisation of production installations, comprehensive computerisation of the company, the modernisation of technical and office facilities and the construction of modern laboratories, financed from own resources.
Zakłady Chemiczne “ZŁOTNIKI” Spółka Akcyjna currently specialises in manufacturing:
- Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate (in crystalline form)
